This week eRotarian Debbie Vincent, our shoebox queen, tells about where all our boxes have gone.
This month our eclub hit Gold, when I met Gareth and handed over 100 shoeboxes, what an achievement from a club that has not been going too long. As you can imagine I felt very proud handing these over to a very grateful Gareth who again is delivering these shoeboxes to disadvantaged adults and children.
Before I say thank you to our members, I must give a huge thank you to Barclays Bank, as this year they filled 30 Shoeboxes for us, for which I gave our heartfelt thanks, I find this an amazing thing that they do and they do it with such generosity and kindness. Jan and I were overwhelmed by the efforts that they had obviously put in again this year.
Now I must come back to our own club members, who knitted, donated money for us to buy items to put in the shoeboxes, sent goodies to put in and who helped on the day. Without all the commitment from us this task would not be possible. Last but not least I cannot forget to mention my own family and friends who again filled shoeboxes and helped on the day and especially Jan who always supports me and the eClub unconditionally.
I know these shoeboxes that will be delivered will give so much happiness and joy and what better gift to give than a gift that will put smiles on young and old faces.
We hope to be getting photos from Gareth of the shoeboxes being delivered, so eClub members watch this space…….
