Please contact Janice Mason if you need more details.

District 1100 eClub helps to host Group Study Exchange from Sri Lanka
Janice and Tim really enjoy the opportunities and learning provided by the Foundation Programme – Group Study Exchange.
The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country’s culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
Pressing on with our Recruitment
Hopefully you are all aware of our forthcoming Charter Event on the 19th May, at Slimbridge, when we celebrate our inclusion into Rotary International. It will be great if you are able to join us. Once the Charter event has taken place the our activity needs to be continue to ensure we tell people about Rotary and recruiting new members to the District 1100 eClub. To this end we are developing area specific leaflets, please let us know if you can help distribute these out into your community, an A4 poster will be available for displaying in shop windows or on notice boards and an A5 leaflet which mentions key places around your specific area.
Finally the eClub is going Quakers
Janice says “the people we have sold ducks to love the idea and the fact that the money raised by Swindon Old Town RC goes to ABC (Affected By Cancer) and we get 50p for our charity funds for every duck we sell. We have a sack full of ducks in our study to give out to you all to sell – our dogs are fascinated by them and want to play with them, so please let us know how many you want before they get to them and the poor ol’ ducks are no longer able to swim! The Ducks come in bags of 25, you sell people a ticket, not the actual plastic duck.”
After the rain on the Ghost Hunt with GSE visitors, Janice and Tim felt they could really go Quakers and began singing in the rain!
