Water fascinates me, we can't do without the stuff, but others have go to great lengths just to survive
Water fascinates me, we can’t do without the stuff, but others have go to great lengths just to survive

Click 4 Action eRotary Secretary Tim says having grown up with the sea just a few miles away I have been blessed with having water surrounding me and actually just in my home through the tap. Without this precious liquid we couldn’t live, but our lives would be so much harder without it, so I am so pleased Rotary Clubs around the world are involved in helping people in communities obtain water easily, but we mustn’t give up as there is so much more to do.

During June I was privileged to attend the Musical Event organised by Uplands Interact Club, to raise funds for the Roll Out the Barrel Project to buy 10 Barrels to help children in Africa carry water more simply and efficiently, helping them to be able to get school on time and to learn. The Uplands Interact Club wrote to schools in Swindon to ask them for their help to put on an event to help other children. The resulting concert was an amazing experience for the pupils that took part and the fact we achieved those Barrels which are now in use.

So it is with excitement we ask everyone to help for us to write a song for Christmas – Rotarian Pa Modou a member of Click 4 Action eRotary

has a band he works with called Humanity Starz, who are ready to help us make a record for Christmas. What we need now is all of our internet friends to help us come up with the words. Pa has a project in his community in Gambia that needs some help with water, so yes let’s help by singing at Christmas for Water.

There are many projects throughout the world still that need real action to make water readily available to everyone, we can help, so don’t ignore – we needs words to put in our song, please put your suggestions in the comments box on this page and help us produce a Song for Christmas.

Finally Fatima Dudha a friend on Facebook has shared her appeal for help with a Water project too, so lets all start thinking, considering and taking action, water needs to be easily available to everyone on our planet and yes we all can help. The video below is so inspiring as it is helping the community to help itself.

Please take action today:

  • Would you be prepared to pledge £2, 2$ or 2€ to help with production costs?
  • This is a great way for eRotary to get something exciting and take ACTION across the world that will improve the lives of people, so to raise awareness about doing more about the availability of water please SHARE this project using the social media links on this page and encourage others to do so.

Yes let us all Sing for Water this Christmas and really make a difference.

    What do we want?
    Clean water
    What do we want?
    A safe life
    What do we want?
    To roll out the barrel
    What do we want?
    An end to strife.

    Help with water
    Help with life
    Roll out the barrel
    ‘cos sickness is rife.

    What do we want?
    Real action
    What do we want?
    Christmas cheer
    What do we want
    in the future?
    A life of health
    and a Christmas beer.

    Help with water
    Help with life
    Roll out the barrel
    ‘cos sickness is rife.
